ROUGH RIDER DISTRIBUTION IN IRAQ

In 2010 and 2011 Kifas manufactured and delivered 1,800  RoughRider wheelchairs to the Iraqi Humanitarian and Investment Fund Trust. The Trust arranged for doctors and physiotherapists to be on hand for the distribution in every region of the country.  Kifas' geopolitical position makes it an ideal place from which to carry out distribution in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

ROURGH RIDERS GO TO HAITI

After Haiti's devastating earthquake in 2010, Kifas received an order for 200 RoughRider wheelchairs from someone connected with Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres). The RoughRider is engineered to go over rugged terrain, be durable for years, and easily maintained with local parts. The man in the picture lost his legs in the earthquake and the RoughRider gave him the freedom to navigate Haiti that he would not have had otherwise.

LDS DISTRIBUTES ROUGH RIDERS IN TURKEY

DISTRIBUTION OF DAUNTLESS KIFAS ROUGH RIDER WHEELCHAIRS, CENTER AND LEFT

İstanbul Ajansı Haber Merkezi                                                                                08.06.2012

Sarıyer Municipality Disabled Persons Coordination Center and American aid organization LDS organized a wheelchair training program.

The training covered HOW TO USE A WHEELCHAIR and ASSESSMENT OF DISABILITY NEEDS were the subjects covered in the training seminar which spread over two days and was attended by 16 volunteers.

The LDS, which has donated 41,000 wheelchairs in Turkey, donated wheelchairs to the Sarıyer Municipality İstinye Neighborhood Center.

In an announcement made by Mahmut Kement, the head of the Neighborhood Center regarding donated wheelchairs, aid to persons with disability should not merely be a case of conscience or emotions but rather should be done together with a scientific study and accurate analysis, without which much damage can be done. Noting that these 16 volunteers are a team formed from Municipaility employees and with other local NGOs, Kement said: "Today we are donating 20 wheelchairs only to our citizens after an interview, taking into consideration which of two types of wheelchairs are appropriate for their disability needs and the environmental factors in which they live."

Sarıyer Municipality Vice Mayor Adnan Ayber presented participation certificates to the volunteers who attended the seminar and an plaque of appreciation and gifts to the LDS representatives.
